Daily Mail: Potential titans clash at Warragul

The G3 TAB Great Chase series continues at Warragul tonight with two 460m heats and The Watchdog has highlighted the second heat on the card as the ‘Must Watch’ race of the night.

Titan Blazer (4 from 10) v Rufiano (5 from 14 – 3 from 3 Trk/Dst) v Reloaded (2 of last 4) are expected to provide an enthralling contest in the second heat this evening.

Hamillson (4 from 9) won by over six lengths on a seriously rain-affected track at Sandown Park last Thursday and should dominate the first heat with Propelled scratched.

The 400m Free For All featuring Lavish Diamond (won last 2), G3 runner-up Paua Of Oscar (16 from 31 – 22.07sec PB), Throw Caution (2 of last 4) and Zimmer Bale is a quality event.

Elliott Ness v Harper’s Girl v Coolant (14 from 26 – 2 from 2 Box 7) and Voltage Spike v Mow A Meadow v Oberon Bale (5 from 11 – 3 from 3 Box 6) v Extreme Harriet (4 from 12) are two more hotly-contested races, while the promising Narcissus (3 from 5 – 2 from 3 Trk/Dst) is in action.

At Healesville, Anita Sonic Love (9 from 18 – 6 from 6 Trk/Dst) and Pirates Patch (2 from 3 Trk/Dst – 5 from 10 Box 2) feature in the 300m Free For All, while My Name’s Phil (3 from 3 Trk/Dst), Hardaway Rocket and Adonis Sands – resuming from eight months off – should all prevail.

The meeting at Horsham features two G3 TAB Great Chase heats (485m) plus standout chasers Ivy Isobel, Braemar Prince (15 from 34 – 6 from 7 Trk/Dst) and Ballarat 390m track record holder Bareki (13 from 20 – won last 3).

Zambora Flame, In My Pocket (2 of last 4), Orejitas and Still In Love (2 of last 5) are highly fancied by The Watchdog to win their respective races at Geelong.

? MUST-WATCH RACE: TAB Great Chase Heat 10

TITAN BLAZER ? RUFIANO ? RELOADED

? Warragul ? Race 4 ? 460m 7:51pm

Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539048/race/4

The Watchdog says
?: It is only a field of five, but we get to see some exciting types and they should all gain a fairly clear passage throughout. TITAN BLAZER (1) is having his first look at the track, but he comes here with some blistering wins to his credit, and he should be suited to this circuit. Two runs back, he went through the first marker in a steady 5.13sec at The Meadows, however he flicked through the gears mid race before coming home in a dazzling 29.90sec. With an even getaway tonight, he should be able to hold the top through the bend and a sub 25.70sec run could be on the cards. RUFIANO (4) is three-of-three here and of the three ‘big guns’, he is best suited by the smaller line-up. He is not blessed with an abundance of early speed but once he finds the rail, he goes into overdrive. He went to another level when scoring at The Meadows last time in a slick 29.94sec and he should test the red throughout. RELOADED (6) is the interesting runner. He scored some breathtaking wins when last in work and he is just as talented as the other two previously mentioned runners. However, he has not raced since early August, and he may be giving away some fitness to his main rivals. He is in very astute hands which is a big advantage and even at 80 percent fit he is capable of making a big impact. It should be a thrilling affair throughout, and any one of these three chasers mentioned could play a major role in the Group 3 final at The Meadows.

Selections:  1 – 4 – 6 – 8

? THE WATCHDOG’S $10 INVESTMENT ?
? Tuesday 5 October

? $2 Trifecta – 8 / 7 / 4,5 (100%)
? Healesville ? Race 6 ? 350m ⏱ 12:45pm
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539045/race/6

The Watchdog says
? : MY NAME’S PHIL (8) is ideally drawn out wide and he should put a space in them. LINE STEPPER (7) is better than his form reads, and he will be strong in the run home, so he can fill the quinella spot ahead of MAJESTIC MOJO (4) and ASTON NOAH (5).

? $1 Win – BIG BOY BROOKE     ? Lucky Longshot ?
? Horsham ? Race 5 ? Box 6 ? 485m ⏱ 4:27pm
TAB fixed odds: $7 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539047/race/5

The Watchdog says
? : This is a really good race, but this bloke has a serious engine and with some luck early he can make a big impact. He can show early speed at times, but he is likely to be giving them a small head start but he does have the ability to carve out time when coming from off the pace.

? $1 Trifecta – 1 / 4 / 2,6 (50%)
? Warragul ? Race 4 ? 460m ⏱ 7:51pm     ? Must Watch Race ?
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539048/race/4

The Watchdog says
? : TITAN BLAZER (1) is an absolute rocket, and he is drawn to make every post a winner. RUFIANO (4) is a beast, and he will be charging to the line and can fill the quinella spot. RELOADED (6) should be running third, however he is first up from a spell, so we have included the talented ENABLER (2) in case he is a run short.

? $3.50 Win – HOPPY BOB
? Warragul ? Race 5 ? Box 1 ? 460m ⏱ 8:15pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.90 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539048/race/5

The Watchdog says
? : He showed blistering mid race pace in his top 24.95sec Sale win recently and he exits the same draw tonight. I’M THE SANDMAN (5) is a serious prospect and is the obvious danger, however he is poorly drawn and likely to be giving ‘Bob’ a bit of a head start. If he can bring his Sale form here, he should be able to get down to around the 25.85sec mark and that would be enough to score tonight.

? $2.50 Win – VOLTAGE SPIKE
? Warragul ? Race 7 ? Box 1 ? 460m ⏱ 8:59pm
TAB fixed odds: $3.50 Win
Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539048/race/7

The Watchdog says
? : She did not have a lot of luck here last week and from the good draw tonight, she can make amends. Her box manners are not great, but she has a big asset in her blistering pace once balanced, so with a slow beginner on her outside, she should get enough room initially and I would expect her to be leading as they negotiate the bend. She has proven in the past that she is very hard to get past when in the clear.
